Ghazaleh Modarresi


Employment Law; Employment Litigation

Ghazaleh Modarresi is an attorney with Berliner Cohen’s Labor and Employment group, where she exclusively represents employers and management in all aspects of labor and employment litigation.  Her diverse practice includes litigating cases involving employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, wage-and-hour claims (both individual and collective actions), unfair business practices, whistleblower claims, and wrongful discharge.  She represents employers in both state and federal court, as well as before state and federal agencies. 

In addition to litigation, Ghazaleh provides employers advice and counsel concerning their workplace policies, practices, and personnel decisions and assists clients in identifying and avoiding employment-related problems before they occur.  Ghazaleh supports employers in all aspects of their employment relationship with their employees and regularly advises clients on matters such as preventative employment practices, employment policies, employment agreements, wage-and-hour laws, disciplinary actions, leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, preventing discrimination, harassment and retaliation, terminations and layoffs, and compliance with other state and federal employment laws. 

During law school, Ghazaleh was a Judicial Extern for Senior United States District Judge Susan Illston.

Each year since 2014 to the present, Ghazaleh has been selected to the Northern California Super Lawyers Rising Star list – a recognition given to no more than 2.5 percent of California attorneys.
