Associate
Business Litigation; Appellate; Real Estate
Ms. Munoz is a member of the Firm’s business litigation and appellate groups. Her practice focuses on business litigation relating to contract disputes; trade secrets and unfair competition; sales and transactions; commissions; and fraud and fraudulent conveyance. Ms. Munoz handles all aspects of litigation, with a focus on law and motion. She is similarly experienced in seeking provisional remedies, negotiating settlements and participating in mediation.
Prior to joining Berliner Cohen, Ms. Munoz served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sergio A. Gutierrez of the Idaho Court of Appeals.
Ms. Munoz was involved in a recent favorable appellate decision for the plaintiff in Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions, Inc. v. Adam Giandomenico, et al. In their appeal, the defendants asserted that Lighthouse presented insufficient evidence to support the conclusion that its Remote 3010 particle counter and customer list were trade secrets, and that Lighthouse failed to present evidence that they had misappropriated Lighthouse trade secrets. Berliner Cohen opposed this appeal citing the overwhelming evidence proffered by Lighthouse. Ms. Munoz drafted Lighthouse’s respondent’s brief for the argument before the Sixth District Court of Appeal. The Justices ultimately agreed with Lighthouse, affirming the preliminary injunction in full.
