Mr. Farb has over twenty-eight years experience in representing real estate developers, merchant builders, investors, contractors, high technology corporations and others in commercial, residential and retail real estate transactions, financing transactions, and real estate workout transactions. Mr. Farb’s practice emphasizes the structuring, negotiation and documentation of transactions involving the acquisition, sale, leasing, financing and development of real property, and formation of real estate investment entities.

Mr. Farb is listed in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 editions of Best Lawyers in America, and in Law & Politics’ 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Northern California Super Lawyers edition in Real Estate.

Representative Matters

  • Represented merchant builder in connection with multi-tract acquisition of real property totaling in excess of $50,000,000; transaction involved the negotiation and documentation of complex purchase and sale agreements, releases of developer liability agreements, exchange agreements, assignments of construction and architect contracts and closing documents
  • Represented high technology software company in the design, development and construction of an approximately 475,000 square-foot office/R&D campus; transaction entailed the negotiation and documentation of all consultant contracts, construction contracts and related documents; transaction also involved an analysis of environmental issues affecting the property and negotiations with various governmental agencies regarding entitlements and land use approvals
  • Represented landlord with respect to negotiation and drafting of build-to-suit lease with publicly traded Fortune 500 company covering approximately 300,000 square feet of office/R&D space
  • Represented publicly traded communications corporation in connection with its build-to-suit lease of approximately 200,000 square feet of space
  • Represented master developer of multi-use project in redevelopment area; project was composed of a 500 room hotel and approximately 300,000 square foot high technology trade center; project was built on property ground leased from a redevelopment agency and included shared parking, building and recreational facilities
  • Represented commercial condominium developer in connection with $92,000,000 debt and equity financing of mixed use commercial condominium/retail project in Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Represented land developer in connection with land use entitlement planning, land acquisition, remediation and clean up of hazardous materials and disposition of property for a mixed-use residential and retail development project in San Jose, California
  • Represented lenders and borrowers in connection with structuring and documenting the terms of loan workouts and debt and partnership restructurings
