Ms. Cogan litigates in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate level, and has a particular interest in complex motion practice and civil procedure. Ms. Cogan represents public and private clients, and her experience spans a variety of substantive areas, including contract, municipal, environmental, constitutional, probate, employment, and tort law.
Ms. Cogan has litigated on behalf of the cities of Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Gatos, and Redwood City, as well as numerous private clients.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Cogan represents private clients in connection with land use and public law matters, including administrative proceedings. Ms. Cogan has counseled clients on the protection of trademark rights and obtained favorable results in trademark litigation and domain name arbitration.

165 Cal.App.4th 198 (2008) Successfully defended the City of Los Altos and County of Santa Clara against a class action lawsuit for sewer fee refunds under the Health & Safety Code, as well as constitutional claims
