As a member of Berliner Cohen’s Tax Group, Mr. Shewey counsels individuals and business entities on a wide range of tax and business matters. Mr. Shewey's tax practice includes both tax transactions and tax controversy before the Internal Revenue Service and Franchise Tax Board.
Before joining Berliner Cohen, Mr. Shewey practiced law as an associate at a Palo Alto law firm where he drafted and negotiated venture capital financings as counsel for both investors and technology companies, prepared SEC filings and disclosures for corporations and executive employees, and assisted in merger and acquisition transactions. He also practiced law at a New York law firm where he drafted merger and acquisition documents, authored SEC filings, and provided counsel on employee benefits.
