Mr. DeJager began working at Berliner Cohen LLP in 2015.  Mr. DeJager’s primary focus is in estate planning matters, including wills, living trusts, insurance trusts, complex trusts, charitable trusts, family partnerships, and other estate administration areas.  Mr. DeJager is closely tied to the local agribusiness community through family, clientele and personal passion; he cares deeply about the challenges of farmers and business owners in the area.  Having been raised on his family’s dairy farm which is now run by his brother near Merced, and currently as an entrepreneur he is uniquely suited to serve the agribusiness community in the Central Valley of California.  Mr. DeJager has first hand knowledge that allows him to offer a distinct and trusted perspective to his clients looking to protect family assets and create a succession plan while limiting tax consequences.

In addition to estate planning, Mr. DeJager takes pride in being able to serve his clients in many of their business related issues.  He works in the Corporate and Litigation departments where he handles entity formation, corporate compliance, general litigation, and general counsel matters.  He is a trusted advocate for farmers and business owners in the region.
