Berliner Cohen’s presentation will focus on recent developments in federal and state case law and legislation affecting employers in the State of California. 

Among the topics to be discussed are:

  • Recent amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Individual liability under the Fair Employment and Housing Act
  • Latest developments in meal break and rest period requirements
  • Amendments to the California Family Rights Act
  • Expanded bases for retaliation claims under Federal laws
  • Workplace safety

PRESENTERS:
Roberta S. Hayashi, and Kara L. Erdodi, Berliner Cohen

Roberta S. Hayashi has over twenty-five years experience representing Silicon Valley employers in employment and business litigation. She has trial experience in wrongful termination, discrimination, and misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary information actions in both state and federal court.

Kara L. Erdodi represents individuals and businesses in employment and general litigation, including wrongful termination, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, and discrimination, and advises and counsels on employee classification, leaves of absence, wage and hour law, and reduction in force.
