With the new year comes significant changes in California and Federal employment laws affecting the way companies will do business in 2012 and beyond. Berliner Cohen’s employment law attorneys will discuss recent legislation and case law and what those developments mean to employers.

New cases and legislation impacting employer obligations to disabled workers

New limitations on the use of credit reports in pre-employment screenings

The latest legal developments regarding meal and rest breaks, reporting time and other wage and hour issues
PRESENTERS:
Kate Wilson is an attorney in the employment law group at Berliner Cohen where she represents companies in employment and general business litigation and provides advice and counsel to employers on a variety of employment matters. Ms. Wilson has extensive experience in employment matters including: representing companies at administrative hearings, fact finding conferences and settlement conferences; drafting personnel policies, employee handbooks, settlement agreements, and separation and release agreements; presenting workforce sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation training; and conducting audits to assess exposure to employment related issues.
Lisa L. Gorecki is a member of Berliner Cohen's business litigation group and employment law group. She focuses on representation and counsel of employers in labor and employment disputes and representation of businesses and individuals in a variety of other areas, including contract, construction, and real property related disputes.
