THE PROGRAM:
Join Berliner Cohen Attorneys at Law, Heffernan Professional Practice Insurance Brokers and Lexington Insurance Company for an informative two-hour seminar on managing employers’ risks in a down economy, including restructuring your workforce.  This seminar is suitable for Principals, Officers and Human Resources professionals and business leaders across all industries.

California employers need to reduce expenses while preserving the essential parts of their workforce that will enable them to ride out today’s economic storms and prosper in the future.  As evidenced by the increase in employment litigation, employers face significant risks as a result of implementing lay-offs, pay reductions, and other right sizing measures.  Experienced employment law attorneys and risk management specialists will discuss ways to manage and reduce your risks while restructuring your workforce.  Topics include:

  • Lay-offs
  • Reductions in rates of pay, salary or scheduled hours (furloughs)
  • Mandatory vacation usage
  • Work sharing arrangements and partial unemployment
  • Severance agreements
  • Holiday shutdowns
