PROGRAM:
Do you employ workers in an agricultural industry?  If so, do you know which employees can work more than eight hours per day without incurring overtime obligations (and which cannot)?  Are you aware that you can be fined and/or sued for failing to provide accessible drinking water or monitoring your employees’ heat exposure?  Did you know that all workers (even if undocumented) can sue you for failing to provide a detailed wage statement, or for hundreds of other seemingly minor employment requirements?  Costly employment related claims, lawsuits and government audits are on the rise in the agricultural industries.

Berliner Cohen’s Employment Law Group will discuss key employment issues currently facing agricultural employers and provide business owners, managers and human resources professionals with the critical tools to evaluate their business and to identify and minimize the risks of costly employment litigation.

Topics will include:

  • Avoiding overtime claims
  • Preventing litigation
  • Avoiding and/or responding to government audits
