Central Valley Growers Worried About High Speed Rail’s Path Through Farmland

The Fresno Bee: Central Valley farmers who met with Assembly high-speed-rail officials Thursday raised a list of complicated concerns about the impact the train's path could have on their fields and orchards. Farmers from Madera, Kings and Kern counties said cutting a swath through the Valley to lay tracks could destroy some prime farmland, force some growers out of business and create hardships for those who have to work around tracks cutting through their land.
