Berliner Cohen is pleased to announce that Modesto attorneys Judy Jensen and Leslie Kalim McHugh, Of Counsel, and Edalina Mendonca, Associate, formerly with Petrulakis Jensen & Friedrich LLP, will join the firm's new Modesto office on June 4, 2012.  They will continue providing their legal services to Modesto area clients, supported by Kevin Kelley, partner in charge of the Berliner Cohen Modesto and Merced offices, at the current PJF Modesto office space at 1130 12th Street.

“Leslie, Lina and I are extremely pleased with the potential that Berliner Cohen offers to continue our legal practices in the Modesto area, and we are quite proud of the enjoyable span of almost thirteen years as Petrulakis Jensen & Friedrich.  This time has allowed us to make the best use of our abilities to help our clients achieve their business and personal goals, and we look forward to more years of providing that excellent service to our clients,” says Jensen.

Ms. Jensen’s areas of practice are estate planning, probate and trust administration and employment law.  She received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1991 and her L.L.M in Taxation from New York University in 1993.  Ms. McHugh and Ms. Mendonca focus their practice on corporate and real estate law, estate planning and probate and trust administration.  Ms. McHugh received her J.D. from Humphreys College School of Law in 1997.  Ms. Mendonca received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2004.

In addition, Matt Friedrich, name partner with Petrulakis Jensen & Friedrich, will be joining E & J Gallo Winery as in-house counsel effective June 1.

“Since establishing Berliner Cohen’s Merced office over 12 years ago, as a Central Valley native I have wanted to establish a practice in Modesto and Matt’s departure from private practice has given us that opportunity.  I look forward to working with Matt’s clients and I think they will find that Berliner Cohen will make their transition to our firm as easy and seamless as possible.  We will do everything possible to maintain the same standard of service that they have come to expect from Matt.  If we can do that, then we will be successful,” states Kelley.
