Business Journal Features Berliner Cohen Managing Partner

July 24, 2009

James Cashman, Berliner Cohen managing partner and estate planning attorney, is quoted in the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal’s July 24, 2009 article, “Law Firms’ Conservative Tactics Pay Off in Economic Downturn.”  The article focused on the theme that bigger wasn’t necessarily better as small and midsize law firms in Silicon Valley survey the carnage in the surrounding landscape.

“…In the current climate the San Jose firm of more than 60 lawyers hasn’t hired in a year and doesn’t need to, Jim Cashman said.  Instead, Berliner is moving lawyers from underperforming practices to areas with demand, like litigation and employment law, which is a nontraditional strategy.”
