Berliner Employment Attorneys Present Legal Update at CCHRA

Roberta Hayashi, partner, and Kara Erdodi, associate, at Berliner Cohen, will be presenting the 2008 California Employer Update to members of the Central Coast Human Resources Association in Monterey on January 10, 2008. The program includes a discussion of recent changes in Federal and state laws affecting employers. Information focuses on legal risks and increased liabilities when verifying eligibility of workers, calculating overtime, providing meal and rest breaks, addressing family care obligations and laying off of workers.
Ms. Hayashi has over twenty-five years experience representing Silicon Valley employers in employment and business litigation. She has trial experience in wrongful termination, discrimination, and misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary information actions in both state and federal court. Ms. Hayashi has been named one of the “Top 50 Women Litigators” in California by The Daily Journal.
Ms. Erdodi represents individuals and businesses in employment and general litigation, including wrongful termination, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, and discrimination. Ms. Erdodi has experience litigating and representing employers before the Labor Commissioner on issues including unpaid overtime and vacation. She advises and counsels on employee classification, leaves of absence, wage and hour law, and reduction in force.
