Greening Berliner Cohen Kicks Off

July 15, 2009

Berliner Cohen has committed to reducing its effect on the environment through innovative ways to reuse, conserve and recycle within its offices.  The Firm understands that our environment is an important part of our future and is committed to initiating ways to affect change in a positive way.

The Firm’s Green Team has researched and determined ways to replace many of our consumable products previously in use with recyclable alternatives, and has initiated an internal recycling and conservation campaign.  For example, recognizing that it is almost impossible to go entirely paperless, the Firm has established new procedures to decrease the use of everyday office supplies.  The amount of copy paper has already decreased by 10% in usage through initiatives taken by attorneys and staff.  In addition, users are being encouraged to deposit all recyclable products in appropriately marked containers.  They are also getting in the habit of turning off lights and computer monitors when leaving their offices.
