Kate Wilson Serves on SCCBA Barristers Executive Committee

Kate Wilson, Berliner Cohen associate, serves on the Santa Clara County Bar Association’s Barristers Executive Committee.  The Barristers includes SCCBA members under 36 years of age or who have been admitted to practice for less than five years.  The Barristers sponsor MCLE programs for new attorneys as well as host a number of activities integrating young lawyers into the SCCBA.

Ms. Wilson also has been selected to participate in the SCCBA Barristers Leadership program for 2008.  The program is designed to prepare future leaders of the SCCBA, to encourage and promote diversity among the leadership, and to provide an opportunity for young and/or new attorneys to strengthen their leadership skills.  The leadership program spans a four month period and includes intensive orientation to the SCCBA as well as formal leadership training.

At Berliner Cohen, Ms. Wilson represents companies on employment matters at administrative hearings, fact-finding conferences, and settlement conferences.  She assists clients in drafting personnel policies, employee handbooks, settlement agreements, and separation and release agreements.  Ms. Wilson provides training in workforce sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation, and conducts audits of workplace policies and procedures.
