Kathleen Sherman Joins Berliner Cohen’s Litigation Department

Berliner Cohen is pleased to announce that Kathleen F. Sherman has joined the Firm as an associate in the Business Litigation Department.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sherman was a research attorney for the San Mateo County Superior Court for three and a half years. She has also worked as a contract attorney for a criminal defense firm and as a bar-certified law clerk for the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office.
“Ms. Sherman brings a vast amount of experience to Berliner Cohen, both in the legal field and in the corporate world. In particular, her extensive knowledge of the court system will be invaluable, and we look forward to her success with the Firm,” said Frank Ubhaus, Business Litigation Department leader.
During law school, Ms. Sherman served as a judicial extern with the Hon. Leonard Edwards, Dependency Court Supervising Judge, Santa Clara County Superior Court, and as an intern in the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
Ms. Sherman is the author of the book A Housekeeper Is Cheaper Than a Divorce: Why You CAN Afford to Hire Help and How to Get It, as well as numerous articles and essays published in a variety of national and local publications. Before beginning her law career, she was a Software Development Engineer, Software Project Engineer and Sales Representative in a variety of high-tech companies, including Hewlett Packard.
Ms. Sherman graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law with a J.D., and from the University of Scranton with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics. She is licensed to practice before the State Bar of California.
