Roberta Hayashi Appointed to SHRM Certification Advisory Committee

Roberta Hayashi, Berliner Cohen employment partner and trial attorney, has been appointed to serve on the Advisory Committee for the California State Council of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).  Committee members are selected based upon their extended knowledge and experience in the industry.

SHRM’s focus on human resource education has been an important and critical component of the organization in order to help secure the future success and recognition of its professionals.  As a member of the advisory committee, Ms. Hayashi will be providing employment law expertise to HR professionals.  She will be making recommendations, preparing curriculum and updating materials for SHRM’s Essentials of Human Resource Certificate Program.  SHRM certifications distinguish human resource professionals among their peers and highlight their commitment to their careers.

Ms. Hayashi has over twenty-five years experience representing and advising Silicon Valley employers in employment and business litigation, and is the head of the employment law practice at Berliner Cohen.  Most recently, the Santa Clara County Bar Association presented her with the distinguished Salsman Award, acknowledging her outstanding service to the organization and the legal profession. Ms. Hayashi has served the courts as a representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.  She also was named as one of the top 50 women litigators in California.  Ms. Hayashi currently teaches employment law at Lincoln Law School.
