Roberta Hayashi Presented 2008 Salsman Award by Santa Clara County Bar Association

January 31, 2008

Berliner Cohen is pleased to announce that Roberta Hayashi, partner and trial attorney, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to the community and the profession by the Santa Clara County Bar Association with its prestigious 2008 Salsman Award.  Named after Bryl R. Salsman, the late Appellate Court Justice from Santa Clara County, the lifetime service award was presented at the Association’s recent Annual Installation Ceremony and Reception.

In presenting the Salsman Award, Tom Kuhnle, 2008 SCCBA President, remarked that “Roberta, with her boundless energy and incredible intellect, has been a speaker for at least two SCCBA seminars each year for the past 18 years, and has served on the Association’s Civil Practice Committee, Federal Courts Committee, the Minority Access Committee, the Professionalism Committee, and the Strategic Planning Committee.  This goes beyond her service more than a decade ago as Association President.”

In addition, Ms. Hayashi participates in the Association’s annual Barrister’s Leadership Program.  She also teaches at Lincoln Law School, and has served the courts as a representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.  She has also been named as one of the top 50 women litigators in California.

Ms. Hayashi has over twenty-five years experience representing and advising Silicon Valley employers in employment and business litigation, and is the head of the employment and labor practice at Berliner Cohen.

Additionally, Steve Hallgrimson, Berliner Cohen Of Counsel, received the Salsman Award in 1985 for his exceptional work with the Santa Clara County Law Library.
