Last opportunity in 2012.  And 2013 is a compliance year.  Get ahead of the curve and complete your 2012-2013 compliance training early, and if you have new managers/supervisors or recent promotions, now is the time.

Berliner Cohen is currently filling a training session for “Recognizing and Prevention of Sexual Harassment.”  Presented in a “You Be the Jury” format, this program is a valuable learning experience for all managers, supervisors and staff in any size business.

California law (AB1825), which became effective in 2005, mandates that all employers with 50 or more employees provide sexual harassment prevention training for their managers and/or supervisors every two years. It also requires that new managers and supervisors receive the same training within six months after their hire or promotion.

Even if your company has less than 50 employees, experience has shown that this program can be very beneficial for you and your employees. Berliner Cohen’s unique format is designed to provide attendees with the tools and skills to avoid harassment in the workplace and to promote high quality work environments, while complying with the requirements of AB1825. Sexual harassment training is also important for all employers because federal and state laws make effective training part of an employer’s defense should a claim be made against the employer.

The seminar is being offered at Berliner Cohen’s office in San Jose. As an option if you have 10 or more for training, we can offer the seminar at your workplace (see “Private Training” below).

For 10 or more employees, Berliner Cohen’s employment attorneys also offer private training sessions for individual employers at a location of the employer’s choosing. Private Training sessions are customized for the individual employer’s policies and practices. In addition, private training sessions can be designed for presentations to an employer’s entire workforce (managers/supervisors and staff) so that all employees benefit from the learning experience.
