Ms. Hanson spent the first four years of her legal practice at the law firm of Silveira, Mattos & Lewis.  While there, Ms. Hanson she focused on personal injury litigation, real property litigation and probate of estates; She handled unlawful detainer actions and some family law litigation.  Ms. Hanson then worked for the Merced County District Attorney’s Office for almost 2 years where I prosecuted mostly misdemeanor and some felony criminal actions, participating as lead prosecutor in 16 jury trials.  Ms. Hanson spent the last approximate 2 years at the offices of Merced County Counsel as a Deputy County Counsel.  She was assigned as the legal advisor to the Merced County Human Services Agency where she handled juvenile dependency cases and reviewed government contracts for the agency.  As the juvenile dependency attorney for HSA, Ms. Hanson dealt with cases involving parental neglect and abuse of the county’s most vulnerable assets, our children.  She advocated for the rights of children and families to lead safe, healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

I was born and raised in Merced, California. I attended Golden Valley High School where I graduated valedictorian prior to attending college and law school. I always knew my passion in life was to be an attorney, and thus I adamantly pursued that path. My husband and I have four daughters who have been the center of our lives. I have coached Merced youth soccer for a majority of the past 10 years as well been an active member of Merced women’s adult soccer leagues. In addition, my husband and I have long been athletes and avid runners; we participate in a multitude of fundraising runs to raise awareness for cancer, learning disorders and several other worthy causes. I have volunteered several years in conducting the MERCO credit union run which supports scholarships for youth wanting to attend the University of California, Merced. My most recent endeavor is the establishment and maintenance of a scholarship fund in the memory of our oldest daughter, Riley Hanson. The fund will be used to support graduating local seniors who display the kind, intelligent, honest, and greatly humble nature that our daughter embodied.
