Ms. Kilian first joined Berliner Cohen in October of 2012 as a paralegal out of the Merced Office, and currently works in Modesto, supporting the Trust and Estate Practice attorneys with estate planning, trust administration, trust funding, probate administration and related matters.

Ms. Kilian has worked in the legal field for 37 years, taking her first job in 1983 as a legal secretary in an Oakland based insurance defense firm. In 1989, she and her husband moved to Stanislaus County where she took a job as a legal secretary. Two years later, Ms. Kilian began working as a paralegal, assisting a senior partner with complex and class-action litigation matters. While working as a litigation paralegal, she traveled throughout the country assisting attorneys with document reviews, document management, depositions, trial preparation and meetings with clients and co-counsel.

In 2003, Ms. Kilian switched her focus to estate planning, trust and probate administration.


  • Ms. Kilian is a California native. She currently resides in the foothills of La Grange, California with her husband, four horses, two dogs and four cats.
  • Ms. Kilian enjoys spending time with her three grown children and her husband, as well as quiet rides, and three-day eventing activities with her horses.
  • She also enjoys triathlons, running events, swimming, cycling, kayaking, hiking and traveling.
