Nancy Johnson has over thirty-five years of experience representing a variety of clients in business and real estate disputes, including escrow and title issues, commercial landlord-tenant matters, and contract matters.

In addition to her work on business and real estate matters, Nancy Johnson represents the San Andreas Regional Center, which is the agency serving the developmentally disabled population in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties.

Representative Cases

  • Handled many cases for lenders presenting varied challenges to lender’s security interest, including validity of lien and lien priority position
  • Represented property owners in matters involving challenges to owners’ title, including easement issues, boundary disputes, encroachments, and liens
  • Represented railroad in matters concerning its right of way property interests, including quiet title actions, landlord- tenant issues and railroad corridor rental value determination
  • Defended escrow liability cases, often securing dismissals for the escrow company through demurrer or summary judgment
  • Represented lenders foreclosing on deeds of trust that secured commercial loans, including applications for appointment of receiver, applications to obtain access for environmental inspections, and addressing intervening borrower bankruptcies
  • Handled many commercial lease litigation matters involving issues such as rent and other defaults, tenant abandonment, condition of property at surrender, interpretation of lease terms, and option exercise disputes
  • Represented commercial parking garage owner in dispute concerning restrictive covenants in deed
