Leila Sockolov’s practice focuses on civil, probate, and trust litigation. She has over a decade of experience with corporate clients and individuals that spans a variety of legal disputes, ranging from elder abuse and trust/estate litigation, to commercial and contract disputes, among others.  In addition to her practice, Leila Sockolov has taught Legal Research and Writing at Santa Clara University School of Law.

Representative Cases

  • Represented client in elder abuse action through trial , resulting in favorable decision, title in real property restored to client, and full recovery of attorneys' fees.
  • Represented business client at arbitration trial resulting in award of full damages sought.
  • Obtained favorable settlement for a beneficiary in a contested trust against claims of lack of capacity and undue influence.
  • Represented clients in Federal Court against a multi-national bank suing for breach of contract in multi-million-dollar matter.
  • Represented appellant before Court of Appeal and California Supreme Court, leading to the California Supreme Court’s adoption of appellant’s position regarding timing of statutory offers to compromise in arbitration proceedings.
  • Represented corporate defendant against trademark infringement allegations in Federal Court wherein the plaintiff paid to settle the matter.
  • Removed writ of attachment over corporate defendant’s real property following plaintiff’s refusal to accept a deed of trust in lieu of writ.
  • Represented construction company defendant at trial, defeating entirety of plaintiff’s claims in excess of $900,000.
  • Represented newspaper company against large media conglomerate at Trial and Appellate Court, successfully obtaining adjudication that client was a “newspaper of general circulation” with accompanying legal benefits.
