Mark Makiewicz is Finance Partner of the firm, and as a member of the Real Estate Group represents a variety of clients in commercial real estate transactions with an emphasis on acquisition, disposition, leasing, project development and project structuring. Mark represents Fortune 500 and other corporate clients in connection with their national leasing programs and campus development projects, including site redevelopment and reuse.

Additionally, Mark counsels local and regional real property owners in connection with the acquisition, disposition and leasing of their real estate portfolios. He has conducted training programs on lease matters for corporate clients and been involved in the development of corporate leasing standards.

Representative Matters

  • Represented Fortune 500 company in the acquisition and redevelopment of a major R&D/manufacturing and office campus
  • Represented residential developer in connection with various transactions involving the acquisition, entitlement and disposition of over 5,000 lots; transactions involved the negotiation and documentation of complex purchase and sale agreements, indemnification agreements, entitlement and entity structuring issues
  • Represented seller in connection with the sale of a multi-building campus project to a major Silicon Valley high technology company
  • Represented landlord in connection with the leasing of 300,000 square-foot portfolio
  • Represented land developer in connection with land acquisition of property for a mixed-use residential and retail development project in San Jose, California
