Berliner Cohen, a full-service San Jose law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Thomas C. Armstrong as Of Counsel to its Corporate Department. He brings over 28 years of legal experience to the firm and represents companies and investors in venture capital financings, private placements, angel financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. His practice includes representation of companies and investors in numerous industries such as life sciences, medical devices, software, internet, consumer goods, cleantech and entertainment.

Mr. Armstrong is also a FINRA registered investment banker holding a Series 79 license and a Managing Director of Ion Partners, an investment banking firm specializing in assisting emerging companies in capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. He was previously with White Summers Caffee & James, LLP in their Silicon Valley office.
He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1984 and his B.A. from Pomona College in 1981. He is Past Chairman of the Business Section in the Alameda County Bar Association.
