In September and December, Kate Wilson, Berliner Cohen attorney, will provide "Recognizing and Preventing Sexual Harassment" training for California employers who have employees who missed the training in 2009, for recently hired new managers or supervisors who have not completed the training within the past two years, and for existing staff who have been recently promoted to a manager or supervisor position within the last six months.
The seminars are scheduled for:
Tuesday, September 28, 2010 – San Jose
Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - Merced
Tuesday, December 7, 2010 – San Jose
Thursday, December 9, 2010 – Merced
The San Jose seminars will be held in Berliner Cohen’s office at Ten Almaden Blvd. and the Merced seminars will be held in their office at 2844 Park Avenue.
Californialaw (AB1825), which became effective in 2005, mandates that all employers with 50 or more employees provide sexual harassment prevention training for their managers and/or supervisors every two years.
Even if your company has less than 50 employees, experience has shown that this program can be very beneficial for you and your employees. Sexual harassment training is also important and beneficial for all employers because federal and state laws make effective training part of an employer's defense should a claim be made against the employer.
Berliner Cohen also offers private training sessions for individual employers with 10 or more employees requiring training, at a location of the employer’s choosing. Private trainings sessions are customized for the individual employer’s policies and practices. In addition, private training sessions can be designed for presentation to an employer’s entire workforce so that all employees benefit from the learning experience. For additional information on private training, contact Ms. Wilson at kate.wilson@berliner.com or 408.286.5800.
