Harry Lopez, Berliner Cohen partner, was quoted in the September 23 issue of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Structures Awards publication. The article, “Moffett Tower ‘Gamble’ a Boost for Sunnyvale,” focused on the increased leasing activity of Moffett Towers when companies such as Microsoft Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., and Motorola Mobility leased large blocks of space.
When asked about the increased activity in some Silicon Valley commercial real estate sub-markets, Mr. Lopez responded: "It set off a wave of leasing activity in particular pockets." "They were obviously significant, high-profile deals involving major players,” he said. “Three major players taking down such a significant amount of space in such a short period of time may have led certain users to conclude that it’s time to jump back in and lock down space.”
Moffett Towers was presented with the Judges Choice Award at the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2011 Structures Awards Ceremony on September 20.
