Hugh Isola, Real Estate Attorney, Retires from Berliner Cohen

Hugh L. Isola, Berliner Cohen of Counsel, has retired from the practice of law.  Hugh has served the real estate community for almost 50 years representing clients from institutional investors, large national corporations and partnerships to individuals in commercial real estate transactions.

Hugh was a Berliner Cohen partner from 1979 through 1993 and managing partner from 1991 through 1993.  Before coming to the firm, he was Associate General Counsel of Kaiser Aetna, focusing on real estate development.

“Hugh has been a long-time friend and colleague.  We have worked together on many projects throughout his tenure here and he will be greatly missed by all.  I wish him the best in his retirement and will continue to enjoy dining, traveling and golfing with him and Mary Lou,” states Stan Berliner, co-founder of the firm.

He is continuing his long association with Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County by serving as treasurer for Charities Housing Development Corporation, an organization that develops, preserves, and manages high quality affordable housing for low-income individuals and their families.

Hugh received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1961 and his B.S.C. from Santa Clara University in 1954.  He is a native Californian born in San Francisco, and he and his wife have raised three children and have four grandchildren.
