We are saddened to announce that Terry L. Allen, 74, well-respected Central Valley attorney and Berliner Cohen of Counsel, died March 5, 2012, following a long illness.
He began his law practice in Merced in 1963 where he first served as a deputy district attorney. In 1968, he founded the law firm of Allen, Fagalde, Albertoni & Flores LLP. In 2010, he joined Berliner Cohen.
From Kevin Kelley, Berliner Cohen partner - "While Terry only worked with us for a year and a half his sense of humor and passion for the practice of law were very evident. He was never ready to give up trying cases and that is what he did until the very end. We will miss him."
“Terry was not only a true gentleman, but also the best trial lawyer in this area for over three decades,” states Berliner Cohen Partner Jeff Kaufman.
Actively involved in Merced’s business community, Terry owned several commercial properties. Because of this, he was able to bring a knowledgeable perspective to complicated legal problems of businesses and real estate development and investment.
He was raised in Oregon and attended law school in San Francisco before moving to Merced as an attorney. He is survived by his wife Sonia, his brother-in-law Ramon and wife Bell, and several nieces and a nephew.
