Berliner Cohen is pleased to announce that Brian Shetler, partner in the Estate Planning Group, has been elected to serve on the Goodwill Silicon Valley Board of Directors.
Goodwill of Silicon Valley, founded in Santa Clara County in 1926, is part of Goodwill Industries International, and makes up one of the largest social service organization in the world, dedicated to serving the disadvantaged. Goodwill’s primary objective is to help those with disabilities, or those with other barriers to employment, find full-time employment.
As part of their services in the Silicon Valley, Goodwill conducts its Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program, which has helped some 200 homeless vets over the last two years; 80 are currently participating in its vocational training program.
In addition to serving on Goodwill’s Board, Mr. Shetler currently serves as a board member for the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council and for the Silicon Valley Planned Giving Council. Mr. Shetler’s trust and estate practice focuses on tax and estate administration issues, and he works with corporate fiduciaries as well as families and individuals in establishing and carrying out plans to preserve and build legacies for generations.
